Course assessment

It is a requirement of the IRCA Certified courses that delegates successfully achieve the course learning objectives before a certificate of successful completion can be awarded.

Delegates’ assessment is important as it provides the delegates with feedback on their performance during the course, helping them to identify their strengths and weaknesses and to take actions. In addition, the tutors’ continual assessment of delegates ensures that weaknesses in any areas are identified during the course so that actions are taken to help the delegate achieve the learning objectives. Delegates are assessed for achieving the course learning objectives. There is a two-part assessment conducted throughout the course.

a) Continuous Assessment by the tutor
Each delegate will be assessed by the tutor throughout the course for the achievement of the course Learning Objectives. This is carried out through the delegate’s feedback received for course workshops, activities and quizzes, and also through a continuous assessment from delegate’s participation in discussions, teamwork, time management and communication to the class and Tutor.

b) Course final Quiz
There is a short quiz at the end of day 2 to assess the learning objectives.

c) Attendance, Punctuality and Time management
Attendance, Punctuality and Time Management are good qualities for an auditor and essential for auditing. These are therefore assessed, and full attendance is required for successful completion of the course. Time management during exercises and feedback is assessed.

Course Certificate

A “Certificate of successful completion” of the course is awarded to those delegates who successfully complete the course assessment.

Delegates who are not successful in parts (a) and (b) of the assessment are only awarded a “Certificate of Attendance” for the course.

Course outcome

This course does not address ISO 9001 in detail, and does not aim to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to determine conformity, or otherwise, with ISO 9001.

Successful completion of this course satisfies only part of the Training requirements set by the CQI IRCA for Certification as an “Internal QMS Auditor”. Delegates must ensure that they meet additional training requirement as well as other requirements set out by the CQI IRCA, should they wish to apply to the CQI IRCA for certification as an “Internal QMS Auditor”.
